Tounge cancer
There are two parts of the tounge: The oral part or front two thirds that can be easily seen, and the part near the base called the pharynx. You can have oral cancer, or oropharyngeal cancer. This type of cancer develops in squamous cells, the flat skin-like cells that cover the lining of the nose, mouth, throat, larnyx, and thyroid, and tends to spread rapidly. Tounge is sometimes grouped with other cancers of the mouth that include lips, gums, pallet, cheeks, and floor. These are known as oral cavity cancer.

Symptoms
The following symptoms may be caused by other diseases and are not necessarily cancer:

• Red or white patch on the gums, tounge, or lining of the mouth.

• Pain or difficulty when swallowing or chewing

• Pain in the ear

• Unusual bleeding, pain, or numbness in the mouth.

• Change in the voice, or difficulty in speaking.

• A sore throat that does not go away

• Skin lesion, lump, or ulcer on the tounge

• Sores in the mouth

• Difficult to move the tounge

Today's medicine does not know the cause of cancer, and what it calls prevention is really just early detection.  Rather than watch for symptoms, it may be more responsible to learn what causes cancer and the means to prevent it.  But if you get it, it would be better to first try natural methods that cause no harm, than to do cut, poison, and burn surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation which can be a last resort.
