A Carcinoid Tumor is a rare tumor occurring in about 30-40 per one million people.

Carcinoid Cancer has been called a "cancer in slow motion", and falls somewhere between benign and malignant. The name indicates its position halfway between carcinomas (cancers) and adenomas (benign tumors). It grows so slowly that one may live many years, even a lifetime, even though carcinoid tumors are ultimately fatal.

Carcinoid cells have the ability to produce hormones, and it is those hormones that cause characteristic symptoms called Carcinoid Syndrome. These symptoms include hot red flushing of the face, diarrhea, and wheezing attacks similar to asthma. The symptoms can be worse than the those due to the growth of the tumor itself.

Carcinoid cells can occur anywhere in the body, but most of them occur in the small intestine, appendix,  rectum, and lungs, and rarely in the colon, stomach, pancreas, and liver.

This site is not concerned with where in the body cancer occurs. All cancers have the same origin in ones biological terrain as charted by Professor Vincent of France in the 1920s, who correlated biological terrain with the onset of cancer. A healthy terrain cannot get cancer, while a debased terrain cannot avoid it. Terrain is mainly due to ones diet.
